“Amazing, the photos do not do it justice, lovely cosy cottage a home from home and fully equipped. Great location, short walk to village incl pubs and chippy, also access to walks (which pass through livestick fields so dogs on leads). Grizedale forest was a short drive away with really good (long & short) walks, better for dogs off leads. ”

“A lovely hotel in spectacular surrounds. Sophie at front of house welcomed us warmly and gave us all the info we needed, she's a treasure. The room was gorgeous, spacious, clean with a lovely view to boot! Very appreciative of the luxury of it all after walking Derwentwater! We enjoyed thoroughly our dinner at the restaurant, and breakfast was a real treat! Highly recommend - a wonderful place to unwind and relax!”

“For a 3 star hotel this ticks all the boxes great value excellent breakfast and a lovely set dinner menu that changes daily. Lovely friendly but professional staff and quiet location but still less than a 5 minute walk to town. You do need to book for dinner as this is a very popular restaurant. If I could find one fault it would be on a personal opinion only and that is that dinner service is to quick between courses but that’s because I like each course to go down before the next is served....

“We had a cozy room on the top floor facing north with wonderful views and excellent air flow. The breakfasts were out of this world, and the service was very pleasant. They also bake some great cakes and cookies. It’s also well located for two wonderful walks. The stone circle and Walla Crag.”

“The staff were great - friendly and welcoming. The room was on the small side but we were only there for one night, and it was clean and comfortable (and the view of the hills was lovely). There was a large fan provided, which was very welcome given the heatwave that was taking place that week, We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. A perfect place for an overnight in the Lakes.”

“Room was on the roadside so no view and lower than the road so.o0eming the blinds meant people being able to see down into the room. Staff were friendly but their system for checking was odd, just a section at the end of the bar and online check in didn't work.so had to re do all the details. Breakfast system to order gluten free or vegetarian was to order at the bar not in the kitchen and then they brought it to you but you had to go back to the kitchen to get the rest of the meal. Breakfast...
